All in a day's play

Here are some cute pictures of Liam from the past two days. He is very active and keeping up with him is hard work. For him, it's all in a day's play.

Random Liam

Not sure I have a coherent theme for this post other than random Liam things from last week. I'll start with talking. Liam is trying to say new words every day. His words from last week are: eggs, guck! guck! (which is 'look!' in German), goldfish (which sounds a lot like 'goldig') and tschuess. Right now the words are definitely Liamese but we know exactly what he is saying and we think he enjoys being understood.

Since Liam has to stay with Mami in the house, he spends lots of time in the kitchen. He really enjoys cooking and baking. When he is in the church nursery they say he always plays in the kitchen! Here are some pics from Liam in the kitchen.

Watching GG's scones baking
They were yummy! Liam LOVED them.

Liam also loves playing with Papi's shoes

But after all this he just gets worn out

Spaetzle zum Fruehstueck

Happy Mother's Day!! Liam surprised Mami with flowers this year. Tobias got me a Spaetzle strainer. I was so excited I made Kaese Spaetzle for breakfast!! This might be a new tradition. :-)

Like father, like son

Liam is getting more and more active every day. This past week he has really begun to pick up new words. His word today was 'Tschuess" ('bye' in German). It is really fun to realize he has finally figured out a word, even if he can't pronounce it completely yet. He also called Traci 'TT' for the first time today. Here are a few pictures from the last week where we can see Liam sharing a few similar traits with Tobias. Like father, like son!! Der Aepfel faellt nicht weit vom Stamm.

He LOVES playing with tools

He now has to have his own bottle of Warsteiner
(Before any one calls CPS, the bottle is empty and has been washed)

He LOVES exploring water
We began watering the grass tonight with a new sprinkler. Liam has never played in any sprinkler before. When Tobias turned this on he went running straight into it. He would have played forever but he was soaked through very quickly and Papi insisted he be put into dry clothes before he got sick.

He loves playing in the Audi

He loves a little yard work in the evening

Look what I can do

Liam figures out something new everyday. He is also trying to talk more and more. Yesterday I told him 'noch nicht' (not yet) and he tried his hardest to say it. It came out more like 'neu nie' but we knew what he was trying to say. Today, Tobias and I were watching the TV commercials for the store. After Liam heard the jingle twice, every time they sang 'child' he would say 'chaaaa'. Still a long way from complete words but he is trying new words every day. Below are some pictures of the last couple of days.

When I was making breakfast the other day Liam learned to unpack and pack the box of butter

Helping Papi water the flowers

Actually, taking Papi's hat on and off is much more fun

I love this!!

Trying to cheer up

Liam is still working on cutting 4 teeth so the days (and nights) can be somewhat challenging. We have been trying all kinds of things to try and cheer him up. Extra thanks to GG, Nanna and Poppa for the extra play time at their houses to help out!!

Playing with a new slide
A little unsure at first . . . but Papi helped!

WOW! This is really fun!

I can do it all by myself!

Playing in his frog pool for the first time
Wait, was my hat supposed to stay on?

Even the frogs like the frog pool :-)
