Liam in waiting

Liam is at the point he always needs a bib because the drooling is endless. Our favorite bibs are now becoming too small for him. Today we decided we have a Liam in waiting.

Now what?!

Having an infant boy taught us very early how important it is to protect ourselves from the involuntary 'christening' supplied during diapers changes. We normally use a washcloth for protection. Liam has recently figured out that he can grab the washcloths and remove them. We watched a very interesting game unfold between Tobias and Liam.

The scenario:
Tobias' turn to change Liam. Tobias places the washcloth for protection. Liam grabs the washcloth and smiles. Tobias grabs another washcloth and places it on Liam. Tobias smiles. Liam grabs the washcloth with his remaining free hand - now holding one in each hand. Liam smiles. Tobias grabs a third washcloth. Liam looks at his hands, looks down and then turns to Tobias with this look, as to say . . .

. . . now what do I do?

Tobias smiles and says, 'I will not be tricked.' I can already see Liam's mind working out what that means. Like father, like son!!

Sunday walk

After two weeks of very cold weather, apparently the weather thought today was Spring and we had a beautiful Spring day. We went on a walk for an hour with Liam.

Liam in his socks from Win, Wes & Charlie.
They have rattles in them and he thinks they are so funny when he kicks his feet.

Walking and sleeping II

Liam is getting better and better about going for walks in his stroller. We got a wind cover for his stroller and it has really helped cut down on fussing. He usually falls asleep now after about 15-20 minutes of walking.

(The cord and the hose are from Tobias' new toy - - his power washer.
Yesterday he was cleaning the brick on the garage.)

Ready for my close-up

It is an inconvenient truth that Liam will do something camera or video worthy until he sees the camera. No matter what he is doing, this is the look we get when the camera comes out -

Eventually he forgets the camera is there -

Zieh!!

Liam has finally figured out that he can grab and pull. Tobias has been helping him work on this bar from his exersaucer. This is the first time he got the music to play.

Exersaucer

Yesterday we said 'goodbye' to the cradle swing that Liam enjoyed so much as a newborn. For the past month he has not been very happy in it and we figured it was time to offer him something else. Tobias assembled his 'exersaucer' and it now stands in the family room where the cradle swing was. I was out yesterday and when I got home and saw the exersaucer I said, 'Oh, you got it down from the attic!' To which Tobias replied, 'Got is down? That thing took over 50 screws to put together!' (Liam says 'thank you!!')

The exersaucer allows Liam to be upright and practice his standing while enjoying all kinds of fun things. Yesterday he was fixated on the mirror in the morning and the purple flower in the evening. Guess that's a some proof that he takes after his mom a little bit. :)

Hmmm, I wonder if I can get the whole thing in my mouth?!
