Nochmal drehen
Liam still loves the song 'Halle, Halle, Halle.' Every time we turn on music we have to play that song. Today I captured one of his favorite games. He dances with us during the song. All he wants to do is spin. Every time we stop he says, 'Nochmal drehen!' It's fun, but tiring. :-) I think I was a bit too far away when filming this so it may be hard to hear . . .

Smiling and sushi
It's Friday and I am tired. It's been a long week. We started the week in Orlando at the Once Upon A Child Annual Conference. Then it was back to reality and a very busy week. Wolseley is keeping me very busy (as always) and this week we had to prep the store for our Grab Bag event tomorrow. There was lots to do. Traci, Sharon and I ended the day by moving 93 bins. Then it was home with sushi to celebrate Tobias' birthday. This was the first time we had to get Liam his own sushi roll. He loves the Phoenix roll.

Earlier this week Liam seemed to be getting sick again. The doctor has put him another course of antibiotics and it seems like he is getting better. At least his congestion is mostly gone. He is coughing a lot less but still has a nagging cough that bothers him a bit a night.

As the pictures clearly show, Liam is due for a haircut!! It was impossible to get him to the hairdresser this week. Hopefully we can tackle that next week.
You have to picture Liam seeing the chopsticks and saying,
'SUSHI ESSEN!!'
'SUSHI ESSEN!!'
He was so excited when Tobias was opening the container that he started shaking and yelling, 'Sushi essen!! Papi, BITTE!!!'

Baking with Mami in the evening. Liam attached the wisk to the
Kitchen Aid all by himself. He was so proud!!

Ha-way-woo-jaaaa!
Liam is finally better after weeks of illness. It took a blast of antibiotics but he is finally better. We are so glad our sweet son is back. I was beginning to forget how 'lieb' he is when he feels well.
He has spent the last couple of days singing again. His favorite song is still 'Halle, Halle, Hallelujah' - which when he sings it still sounds like 'Ha-way-woo-jaaa'.
Liam's appetite has returned as well. He did not each at all when he was sick. Now he is making up for lost time. His favorite foods right now are: Belgian waffles, chocolate, cheese (he really likes cheddar), Salami, yogurt, and puffs. Here is a picture of his treat last night - chocolate ice cream!! (For Poppa and Opa - he still prefers his left hand when he eats.)

Watching Dora and playing with some of his favorite toys - Mami's hair straightener, an umbrella, and, of course, his pacifier. He will pick up the umbrella and sings, 'Es regnet, es regnet, Erde - nass!' I have tried many times to get a video of that but he is always done by the time I get the camera going and he does not perform on demand.

A little better, a little worse, and sweeping
Last week Liam really seemed to have improved. We thought by Thursday he was well. We decided to keep him home all week to be safe. Unfortunately, he came down with another fever yesterday and he is once again sick. It looks like we may now be at the point of having to do blood work to see why he has been sick off an on since Thanksgiving.
Here is video clip from Friday when Liam was feeling better. GG got a broom that is his size. He loved sweeping with the broom until he realized it was faster to pick things up with his hands!! The funniest part was watching Granny throw cereal on the floor so he could clean it up. For a woman who doesn't waste ANYTHING, it was a true sign of love for her to play this game with him!

Schreibtisch, Speilzeugkiste, und Sushi
Liam finally seems to be on the mend after a week of illness. Here are some pictures of new things from the last couple of day.
Liam got his first Schreibtisch. It's a neat desk/easel combination. It only took Liam about 30 minutes to figure out how to break the plastic clip on top of the desk so that the easel now can't hold paper. :-(
But, he loves his desk. As soon as he saw the drawer he ran and got his crayons and put them inside.
At dinner he ran to sit at his table. He enjoyed a lovely dinner of Wurst and Kaese.
Then came the Spielzeugkiste. I am having a hard time explaining to Liam that one does not play in the Kiste. Not a battle worth fighting right now.
Tonight Liam shocked us at dinner. I picked up sushi for dinner to try to cheer up Tobias (who has come down with Liam's cold/virus). When Liam saw the box he yelled to sit in my lap. He picked up a pair of chopsticks and started banging the box saying, 'sushi essen!' (eat sushi). We laughed thinking he was joking. Turns out, he LOVED the Pheonix roll (at least the inside).
Tobias lost 3 pieces to him!!

Helping and healing
Liam has had a really nasty virus since Thursday. The worst part of viruses is the there is nothing we can do about them. I hate getting the 'just wait it out diagnosis' . . .
Tobias has been working on a house project. Liam really wanted to help but could only muster the energy to lay on top of Tobias' leg.

Common position for Liam that day. This was playing with his train.

Today, Liam was better - then worse. During one of his better times he loved playing with a teddy bear and his train.

We are hoping he will get over this soon. This has been a rough illness for Liam.

Crayons, cookies and crazy eating
Since my last post Liam made his first international flight, we celebrated a new year, and someone replaced our finicky eater with a food devouring machine!
I will have to get caught up on Christmas with a post soon. For now, here are some pics from the last couple of days.
Since returning to the States after Christmas, Liam has been eating everything in the house . . . twice! We are wondering what happened to our finicky Liam. Today, for example, he ate half a Belgian waffle for breakfast before going to play school, drank a cup of milk, went to play school and ate 4 pancakes for breakfast there. He ate all of his lunch (burrito, fruit, vegetables) and 2 glasses of milk. He ate snack, then came home and from 4-8 PM he ate 1.75 Belgian waffles, a cup of fruit, a cookie, and drank a glass of milk. Yesterday I gave him a cup of fruit at dinner and he inhaled it and asked for another. We hope that a growth spurt is coming or we have no explanation for his sudden insatiable appetite.

'C' is for cookie !
And, 'G' is for green. He had green smudged all
over his face by the time he was done.

Liam got some chunky finger crayons from Nanna and Poppa. He loves playing with them.

This one looked too much like chocolate . . . so he tried to eat it!

Liam spent New Year's Eve with his cousins. Here is a picture of him with Abby.
