Planes and automobiles

Liam loves to be on things that move. Last week I found a Superman cape that lights up and makes sounds effects like Superman flying. Liam has no clue who Superman is but he loves the cape. He runs around the house saying 'Superman! Superman!' Tobias got this picture this morning when Liam decided to play on his Winne the Pooh plane.

Liam has learned the song 'B-I-N-G-O'
This morning he started jumping and singing it for no reason.
We are not sure how Nemo got into the Bingo song, but it make sense in Liam's mind.

Liam says, 'Don't be fooled. I want a real car!'

Bimmel bimmel

Liam singing Bimmel Bimmel Baye (sp?!) this morning. Anyone that has eaten breakfast here knows its part breakfast part entertainment. ;-)

For the non-German speakers, this is a song in Liam's 3rd language - Platdeutsch. This is the dialect that Oma's family speaks. This is a children's song about teachers.

Ha da wieb and the Liam

I am trying to remember to write down all the cute things Liam says as he continues to develop his language skills. The most recent develop is that he has started responding to 'Ich hab' Dich Lieb' (I love you) with 'ha da wieb!' (his attempt to say 'love you too'). The sweet part is that he says it very enthusiastically. This is one of those phrases that I will be sad to lose when he can pronounce everything properly.

Here are some random pictures from the few weeks.

Liam loves playing in my car.
He loves cleaning the windows.

This was an Easter picture on Tobias' phone so it didn't make the initial Easter posting.
Liam walking up to church

This morning after breakfast Liam said he wanted to go outside. Tobias told him he had to get ready. This was Liam's response. Tobias said he got it all on with lightening speed. Note - it was neither cold nor rainy.

When I got home today with Pappa's truck Liam yelled, 'PAPPA'S TRUCK!!'
and ran so that he could play inside.

Easter

We had a wonderful Easter celebration with family and friends. The day included church in the morning, a fantastic meal, and an Easter egg hunt with cousins and neighbors.

Here are some pics from the day!!

For Mami Janke - flowers from the yard :-)

Also for Mami - cooking with Champagne!! Another :-)

Ready for the Easter egg hunt

BTW - It was so hot Easter Sunday we hid the eggs just before the kids went out and most of the chocolate still melted.

Ready, set, go!!

Oma and Opa

I just looked at the blog and realized it has been over a month since I last posted. When I first saw the date I thought it couldn't be right. Sadly, it is. Where does the time go??

Here are some pictures from Oma's and Opa's visit.

Liam only gets to jump on beds when he does 'high jump' with Opa. Ever since Opa created this game on their last visit Liam begs to play and we always tell him he only gets to do that with Opa. When Oma and Opa arrived Liam got very excited and ran straight to the bed to play 'high jump'.

Liam and Oma and Opa during the evening wind down routine. This was watching either Caillou or Dora.

Oma enjoying the VA sun

Liam is at the phase he repeats everything he sees. Tobias cleans a lot out doors with the Shop Vac and it has become one of Liam's favorite toys.

Heading out to the Noland Trail and Museum Park with Oma and Opa!

Liam also now loves bikes - both riding his and getting to ride along in Mami's bike. Oma and Opa spent lots of time either watching Liam ride his bike or taking him for a ride in the Museum.

Potty Shark

We got some cute pictures of Liam at bath time tonight. He now sits on the potty as part of the bath time routine. Tonight he was wearing his shark towel and I snapped a shot.

We always celebrate Liam using the potty (whether he just tries or is successful) with a song and dance. Here is Liam smiling while I sang his potty song.

Lipstick and the great outdoors

This week when I was away on a trip for work I got the following picture from Tobias which said, 'Guess who found your lipstick when I turned my back for 15 seconds to answer the phone!'

We have had some beautiful Spring weather at the end of Winter. Liam LOVES being outside. Here are some pictures from our adventures this weekend.

Liam and his walking stick
This year Liam doesn't want to ride in GG's wagon; he wants to pull it. The only exception is the slight downhill on Jones Road. He will get in for that and that only.

Liam still loves the water. We spent nearly an hour today collecting rocks and throwing them in. After we ran out of rocks he began pulling grass and loved watching it 'swim'.
I wasn't sure if I would be able to get Liam to come home after he discovered this. The curve is just his size and he did not want to leave.

Tobias and Liam put up our wind chime and a bird feeder when I was gone. Liam loves hitting the chime but it is hard for him to reach. Today he figured out how to make it easier!
